Becoming Like A Child
1. The characteristic of helplessness (Ezekiel 16 illustrates our need for the Lord to provide for us like a father provides for his child)
2. The characteristic of humility - verse 4 (Ps 131:1-2 we must humble ourselves like a child)
3. The characteristic of honesty - children can be brutally honest, but we must have true honesty (Matthew 5:37)
4. The characteristic of hunger - Ps 34:8 we should be hungry for God's Word and a relationship with the Lord; the opposite of apathy
5. The characteristic of honor - respecting those who are wiser than us and looking up to our brethren in Christ
6. The characteristic of hope - children are trusting; we can lose this as adults (Ps 38:15, 39:7; 42:7) we can place our hope in God but we can also forget this and lose the right perspective
7. The characteristic of happiness - children are instinctively happy people, are we? Blessed = happy, are we living this out?
